Eligibility & account registration
- Account Verification: You can create and access your account with your email address (verified by a one-time passcode), your Google account or your LinkedIn account. On iPhone, you can also use Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping access to that email or account secure. Your use of Google, LinkedIn or Apple sign-in is also subject to their own terms.
- Accurate Profile Information: You must use your real name and an authentic photo of yourself. Impersonating anyone else is not allowed.
- One Account Per Person: You may hold one personal account. It cannot be transferred, shared or sold.
User conduct & community guidelines
KINJO has zero tolerance for behaviour that makes others feel unsafe. You agree not to:
- Compromise App Integrity: Scrape data, reverse-engineer the app, use bots, or fake or spoof your location.
- Violate Laws: Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
User-generated content (UGC) & moderation
- Ownership: You keep ownership of the content you add, such as your photo and bio.
- Direct Reporting: For urgent safety issues, email hello@kinjo.world.
Zero Tolerance for Violators: We may remove content and suspend or permanently ban accounts that break these Terms, without prior notice.
Location & visibility permissions
- Opt-In Control: You are only discoverable when you turn on “Visibility” in the app. KINJO uses your location while the app is open to show you people nearby. If you choose “Allow all the time” on Android or “Always” on iOS, your profile also stays visible to people nearby when the app is closed or your screen is off. This is optional and never mandatory.
- Proximity Accuracy: Detection depends on your device’s sensors and signal, so we cannot guarantee it will always be precise.
- Privacy Safeguards: Your location is never shared with anyone. Other users see only that you are nearby and your profile card, never your coordinates or your path.
- Revoking Access: You can turn off Visibility in the app, or change location permissions in your device settings, at any time. Notifications are optional too: we ask before sending any, and you can turn them off whenever you like.
Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Account termination & deletion
- In-App Deletion: Go to Profile → Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Online Deletion Request: Submit a request at kinjo.world/delete-account.
- Email Request: Email hello@kinjo.world from the address linked to your account, with the subject “Delete my KINJO account”.
If you signed in with Apple, deleting your account also revokes KINJO’s access to your Apple ID. Personal data is deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account, without notice, if you break these Terms or put other users at risk.
Demonstration & AI content
Sample profiles, images and walkthroughs shown in the app, on our website or in the app stores are for demonstration purposes only and do not represent real users.
AI-generated conversation starters and bio summaries are suggestions only. They are not statements of fact or endorsements of any user.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KINJO WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM:
- YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE;
- THE CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY USER OR THIRD PARTY;
- ANY MEETING OR INTERACTION OFFLINE;
- ANY UNAUTHORISED ACCESS TO OR USE OF YOUR DATA.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above, and for major changes we will give you notice in the app or on our website.
Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
